Walkaround Description
Here's a 2010 Ford Taurus SEL with the 3.5L engine that starts right up, steers smooth, and stops just fine. Don't let the odometer scare you off—it drives surprisingly quiet and solid down the road, and the transmission shifts smoothly through the gears. The interior is clean with comfy leather seats, working power windows and locks, working cruise control, good horn, wipers, turn signals, and a functional radio. Outside, the body is straight and clean, sitting on a matching set of tires with decent tread all around. Cosmetically, she shows typical Midwest age. There's a scrape on the front bumper corner, the black roof trim molding has peeling and sun bake, and the hood struts are completely blown out so you'll need to replace them or use a prop rod to hold the hood open. The battery negative terminal clamp was loose under the hood, and the rear bumper reflector trim was slightly popped out though it clicked right back into place. The big elephant in the room is the mileage—it reads right over 301,000 miles on the dash, and the cluster does have an 'OIL CHANGE REQUIRED' reminder lit up. There is a slight humming noise heard at highway speeds that doesn't change when weaving, likely tire noise or a rear wheel bearing starting to make itself known, and the brake pedal has a bit of a spongy feel even though the car stops well. The car also needed a jump start initially, so the battery condition should be watched.
